Storms

We have had a couple of lovely storms come through Cornwall over the last few weeks, 60-80 mph huge waves, massive swell so we have cancelled lots of diving for safety reasons, we are looking forward and hoping that after the Christmas holidays things will have settled down and we can get back to being in the water

Help

Wavecrest is looking for rescue divers for our Divemaster training for next season, we have three instructors and are looking for 2-3 New interns for training, normal cost of a Divemaster course is £500 plus the cost of manuals and PADI applications fees, but if you I tern with us you will have the course for £300 plus manuals and PADI applications, we are going to have a fantastic and very busy summer and need new help to work through it, our senior instructor Mark is hoping to become a Course Director next year so we will be able to run our very own internal instructor courses meaning you can become Divemaster then run straight into your Instructors course IDC

Instructor development

Wavecrest has had a fantastic summer this year with loads of people trying scuba at the different holiday resorts we work with, we have had a great crew this year as well with Beccie, Tom, Phil and myself working harder than ever.
We also have some great news Tom our recent divemaster has just passed his OWSI Open Water Scuba Instructors course and we wish him all the best and welcome him to the teaching team.
We are closing down over the Christmas period this year as we have decided to go away for the holiday season.

Summer

We have had a fantastic summer, lots of things have happened, Tom our resident photographer has decided to join the teaching team, doing his IDC this October and we wish him all the best, Phil our intern divemaster has done well, growing with confidence as the season has gone on, Beccie our young lady instructor has continued her growth within the company and is doing really well and Mark has gain lots more instructor ratings in Equipment specialist and Night Diver, gaing more over the next few months with Semi Closed Rebreather, Trimix Blending Instructor,Multi Level diver instructor to name just a few.
Our plans to grow are coming along nicely with Mark applying for his Course Director and hoping to achieve it early next year, fingers crossed

Advanced open water

Great dives yesterday with our friend Ian, congratulations to both him and Beccie, another course for our newest instructor and another step closer to Master Scuba Diver for Ian, keep going guys your doing Wavecrest really proud, now time for some proper dives Ian no more skills for a while......

Dive site

We have started diving at our new and exclusive dive site in the St.Austell bay area, it's been great so far, shallow with so much life, we have dead man's fingers, spider crab, wrasse, pollock, bass and lots more, come along and meet us, dive the site and have a beer in the bar afterwards...

Courses

With summer starting we have just started to take lots of bookings for courses, 2 open water an advanced and a rescue, looks like this could be an amazing summer

Holiday

We are still looking to book our Red Sea trip for next year, we have booked 'The Best of the Wrecks and The Brothers' it's going to be a fantastic trip, normally costs £1200 but this is a fantastic trip at an amazing price of £999 per person.

We have 22 places at the moment but we have lots of interest and lots of people wanting more information, lots of people know what a fantastic price this is, don't delay book this

Shop

Well after nearly 10 years of running Wavecrest I have finally come to the decision to join the 21st century and build an online shop #onlinestore it's been hard going but I have finally managed to get over 150 items on there from courses to drysuits, more will be added as time goes on but I'm pacing myself....
We have also built out first prototype bbtank/tank-b-q and are really looking forward to getting that fired up for summer.... #summer #bbtank #tankbq
Thursday evening dives have started again and although the weather hasn't been kind to us we are slowly getting more interest as the weeks go on, soon be time for a pub night I think......

Shop

We have slowly worked our way into the 21st century!!! Yes Wavecrest has gone online shop root.... Well nearly anyway, I'm working on putting all our products on the shop and with so many manufacturers it's going to take some time but at least the courses will be up and available soon

Swimming pool

You know when the season is about to kick off when the pool is being emptied from over winter.....
Yes its that time of year again when the pool at Monkey Tree gets emptied, washed, cleaned and refilled ready for the start of the season and it's now we start to gear up for another hectic and mental summer, with good weather forecast and a hot summer promised we are looking forward to a seriously busy season....
I hope my new interns and other instructor Becci are ready for a big one this year.....

Tec week

After a fantastic week in the Red Sea on M/Y Red Sea Adventurer we had a brilliant week of diver training, I passed two new divers for their Tec40 and Tec45 course one diver was doing well for Tec50 but does need to work on buoyancy as deck stops need to be absolutely nailed at this level and a near enough isn't good enough.....

Plymouth

Although we are really looking forward to our Red Sea dive holiday and teaching some great tech courses we are also looking forward to getting back and diving with the guys at In-Deep for a weekend break and some fantastic British diving.....

Red sea

We are now getting ready for our little winter break to the Red Sea, a week on board the red sea adventurer is going to be fantastic, we have a couple of courses booked, tech40,45 and 50..... It's going to be epic having lots of time on the Thistlegorm

Drylastic

Two new Cressi Drylastic suits arrived yesterday, I know we will have two very happy divers very soon, I know they are already looking forward to getting wet and staying dry in these fantastic suits

New kids kit

The first of our new kids section kit has arrived...... A new Cressi Start in XS, it's going to be great seeing our first Seal Team, Bubble maker or Junior Open Water diver using it

New challenge

We are looking for people that are ready for the next challenge! Are you a rescue diver or Divemaster looking to change your career? Well we want you!!! We are expanding our team this year and need new and up for the challenge people to work along side our team of instructors, you will learn how to organise courses, scheduling, General work around the school a d lots more, remember Mark is a technical instructor so you could find yourself in an Open Water course one minute then 50m on twinset or sidemount the next

New year

We have had a fantastic start to the new year so far, lots of new things happening, we have the club going from strangth to strangth with new members, New staff, New dive masters, a completely new club members Facebook group, a club website and our contacts keep growing, now we have friends in Cyprus as well
